Resetting the PCI watchdog card after a trip
« on: November 13, 2010, 02:56:31 »
I plan to use the relay#1 output of this card to trip external circuitry (as opposed to resetting the PC).  As part of our system diagnostics I will be deliberately causing a watchdog timeout to prove correct operation of the external equipment. Is it then possible to reactivate the watchdog card for nomral operation without having to re-start the PC? If so, what actions do I need to perform?

Thanks

Tony,
The operation of relay #1 (& #2) can be set by a DIP Switch option to generate a 3 second pulse each time the watchdog times out or it can be set to latch on continuously after the first time out. I assume you plan to use the second option. If so, you can call the WD_GetSetPciRelays() function in the DLL from your application to turn relay #1 off after your test.
