CONFIG program fails with TICKLE program loaded
« on: December 17, 2010, 18:25:28 »
We have had a few calls and emails about this issue. Some customers are using our BPI_WDog_Tickle program to "tickle" their PC Watchdogs rather than using a custom application. When the tickle program is installed it also installs a shortcut in the Startup folder to automatically start the program each the PC restarts.

At some point later the customer decides to tweak the operation of the board using the BPI_WDog_Config program - but this attempt fails with the config program being unable to "find" the board. The problem occurs because the tickle program already has control of the connection resource - serial, USB, or PCI port. Only one application program can control the port at a time.

The solution is to stop the tickle program as described in the manual - use the config program to make changes - then reload the tickle program.
