BPI_WDpg_Tickle program failed on wdOpen or wdOpenEx
« on: December 06, 2013, 20:38:02 »
Hi,

I have the USB watchdog and it had been working well until recently. One day I started receiving a "Fatal Open Error" that states BPI_WDpg_Tickle program failed on wdOpen or wdOpenEx.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled software and am at a loss. I haven't made any changes on my side.

I'm running Windows 8, if that matters.

Please help.

Very sorry for the late reply. Your post was overlooked.

Can you check Device Manager and see if an HID device is being installed each time you plug in the watchdog.
Under properties it should Device & VID of: 0C98 1140.
Do you get the successful acknowledgement beep when you plug in the card?

Hi, I have the same problem, although I have just gotten my 1140.

Windows 7 x64 does not recognize the device - it marks it as Unknown Device in Device Manager. I cannot locate the driver on the CD.zip

Can you help?
Thanks

There is not a driver on the CD. The USB Watchdog device uses the built in Windows HID driver. Other devices also use the HID driver such as a keyboard, mouse, game controller, etc. Can you try removing these devices one by one and see if any of them are interfering,
